Martha & Mary · John 11:17–44

Jesus meets us in our grief

The encounter

Martha and Mary were grieving their brother Lazarus. Jesus listened, wept with them, and revealed himself as the resurrection and the life. He then called Lazarus from the tomb. This encounter shows both his compassion in sorrow and his authority over death.
